HAZRAT UMAR’S INNOVATION
Some among `Umar’s innovations mentioned in Abu Hilal al-`Askari’s Kitab al-Awa’il ("Book of Firsts") and Tabari’s Tarikh:
Establishment of Bayt al-mâl or public treasury.
Establishment of courts of justice and appointment of judges.
The determination of the Hijra calendar which continues to this day.
Assumption of the title of Amîr al-Mu’minîn.
Organization of the War Department.
Putting army reserves on the payroll.
Establishment of the Land Revenue Department.
Survey and assessment of lands.
Census.
Building of Canals.
Founding of the cities of Kufa, Basra, al-Jazira, Fustat, and Musal.
Division of conquered countries into provinces.
Permission to traders of foreign lands to trade in the country.
Organization of jails.
Making rounds at night to inquire into the condition of the people.
Organization of the Police Department.
Establishment of military barracks at strategic points.
Distinction of pedigree and non-pedigree horses.
Employment of secret reports and emissaries.
Rest-houses on the way from Mecca to Madina for the comfort of travellers.
Provision for the care and bringing up of foundlings.
Organization of guest-houses in different cities.
Giving salaries to imams and mu’adhdhins.
Provision of light in mosques at night
Stipends for the poor among the Jews and the Christians.
Establishment of schools.
Stipends for school teachers and public lecturers.
Method of making trusts
Persuading Abu Bakr to collect the Qur’an and execution of the work under his own care.
What was that thing when the holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his immaculate family) said, “I leave amongst you TWO most weighty things; one is the BOOK OF ALLAH, THE HOLY QUR’AN AND THE OTHER IS MY AHLUL-BAYT?
If the holy Qur’an was not readily in the book form, then how come he mentioned the word “BOOK” in this hadith? Are the scattered chapters in the hearts and minds of people the same as a readily compiled Book?
Formulation of the principle of qiyâs or judicial analogy.
More exact division of inheritance.
Insertion of the formula "Prayer is better that sleep" in the call to the dawn prayer. However, as stated before, the more correct report is that it is Bilal who first inserted the formula in the call to the dawn prayer and the Prophet retained it.
Can the above statement be verified? It is said that it was Umar who inserted this phrase in the Fajr adhan.
Ordaining the holding of tarawih prayers in congregation.
Three divorces pronounced at one session declared binding
Provision of the punishment for drunkenness with eighty stripes
Levy of zakât on horses of merchandise
Levy of zakât on the Christians of Bani Taghlab in lieu of jizya
Consensus of opinion on four takbîrs in funeral prayers
Organization of sermons in mosques
Provision of punishment for writing satires and lampoons
Prohibition of the mention of women’s names in lyric poems although the custom was very ancient in Arabia.
Imposition of customs duties.
Taxation of the produce of the sea and appointment of officials for its collection.
Use of the whip.
The ruling that Arabs, whether Muslims or non-Muslims, could not be made slaves.
WHO AUTHORISED UMAR TO INTRODUCE THESE INNOVATIONS IN ISLAM?
THE RELIGION OF ISLAM WAS ALREADY COMPLETED BY ALLAH HIMSELF BY THE TIME THE HOLY PROPHET (peace and blessings be upon him and his immaculate progeny) PARTED THIS WORLD.
33:36 “IT IS NOT FOR TRUE BELIEVERS - MEN OR WOMEN - TO TAKE THEIR CHOICE IN THEIR AFFAIRS IF ALLAH AND HIS APOSTLE DECREE OTHERWISE. HE THAT DISOBEYS ALLAH AND HIS APOSTLE STRAYS FAR INDEED.”
49:1-2 “BELIEVERS DO NOT BE FORWARD IN THE PRESENCE OF ALLAH AND HIS APOSTLE. HAVE FEAR OF ALLAH: HE HEARS ALL AND KNOWS ALL. BELIEVERS DO NOT RAISE YOUR VOICE ABOVE THE VOICE OF THE PROPHET, NOR SPEAK ALOUD WHEN SPEAKING TO HIM AS YOU DO TO ONE ANOTHER. LEST YOUR LABOUR SHOULD COME TO NOTHING WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE.”
59:8 “WHATEVER THE PROPHET GIVES YOU, ACCEPT IT AND WHATEVER HE FORBIDS YOU FORBEAR IT.”
66:1 - 3“O’ (our) Prophet! Why do you forbid (to yourself) what God has made lawful to you. You seek to please your wives; and God is Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful. When the Prophet confided to one of his wives a matter, but when she divulged it (to others) and God apprised him there of, He made known a part of it and avoided a part; so when informed her of it, she said, “who informed of this?” He said, “Informed, me, the All Knowing, the All Aware.”
In view of the above mentioned verse, even the most noble Messenger of Allah has no authority to innovate anything in matter of religion. Whatever he forbade was to himself and not to his Ummah, but still Allah (s.w.t.) did not approve of it. Secondly, this verse also proves that Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his immaculate progeny) was a Messenger of Allah under ALL circumstances. If his office of Prophethood was not applicable in his private life (as some Muslims claim), then why is Allah referring to him as “O MY Prophet” when the matter was entirely his personal?
So, if the Messenger of Allah through whom the Shariah was revealed could not and would not alter anything, how could his so called “Rightful Successor” interfere and introduce bida’h? What sort of Muslims are we to accept such a person as a Muslim in the first place, let alone a successor of the holy Prophet (pbuhf)?
Didn’t the holy Prophet (pbuhf) say, “whatever I Muhammad has made halal will remain halal up to the Day of Judgement and whatever I Muhammad has made haram will remain haram up to the Day of Judgement”?
If so, then on whose authority are we Muslims following the innovations and bid’ats of hazrat Umar?
THE ABOVE MENTIONED VERSES ARE CLEAR CUT AND THERE IS NO ROOM FOR ANY INNOVATIONS OR BID’AH IN ISLAM.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN UMAR AND (APOSTLE) PAUL? PAUL MANIPULATED THE TRUE TEACHINGS OF JESUS AND UMAR MANIPULATED THE TRUE MESSAGE OF ALLAH AND HIS MOST NOBLE PROPHET MUHAMMAD (pbuhf).
IF UMAR HAD THE AUDACITY TO INTERFERE IN THE DEEN OF ALLAH AND HIS APOSTLE, THEN WHO KNOWS WHAT HIS PREDECESSOR, ABU BAKR DID AND WHAT HIS (UMAR’S) SUCCESSOR DID.
If Umar had the audacity to interfere in the matter of deen of Allah, is it okay to presume that his predecessor, Abu Bakr and also his (Umar’s) successor, Uthman, too must have interfered in certain matters regarding Islam? If so, it would mean making certain things haram which were originally halal and vice-versa.
“This day I have perfected your religion for you and completed My favour to you. I have chosen Islam to be your faith.” 5:3.
If Allah claims to have completed His Deen, then why and for what are all these changes after the departure of the holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his immaculate progeny)?
How can one claim to be following the Deen of Muhammad (pbuhf) which is adulterated manipulated?
This would then mean drifting away from the original Islam as preached by the holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his immaculate progeny) in the light of the holy Qur’an and as per commandment of Allah.
Didn’t the Prophet of Allah say, “Whatever I Muhammad have declared halal will remain halal until the Day of Judgement; and whatever I Muhammad have declared haram will remain haram until the Day of Judgement.”?
“You (Hazrat Ali) are related to me as Aaron was related to Moses (pbuh). But no Apostle will come after me.”
(Bukhari, Muslim Musnad recorded a similar hadith ending in 'Behold there is no prophethood after me.')
”If ever there arose a person from among my people who would hold communion with God, it would be none else but 'Umar bin Khattab.”
(Bukhari , Muslim, Tirmidhi)
I read the above mentioned two ahadith of the holy Prophet (pbuhf) with great interest. It gives us food for thought.
A prophet is a ma’soom, sinless and infallible from the time he is born to the time he dies. He never ever commits any sin knowingly or unknowingly, in public or in private. He is born of Muslim parents.
How could hazrat Umar be of that lofty status when he was born of mushrik or kafir parents? How can he achieve such a status when he was a kafir and a mushrik himself for a good part of his life? How can he enjoy that lofty status when he was a sworn enemy of Allah’s Apostle and Islam prior to embracing Islam? Wasn’t Umar a sworn enemy of Islam and the holy Prophet of Islam before embracing Islam?
It makes a lot of sense the hadith mentioned regarding hazrat Ali (a.s.). He was born in the Ka’ba, the House of Allah. He was born of Muslim parents. He was groomed by the holy Prophet himself. He was with the Messenger of Allah right from the beginning of his mission to the end. He remained with the holy Prophet in all the battlefield and never even once did he desert the holy Prophet. It was hazrat Ali who executed the funeral rites of the holy Prophet and was through thick and thin.
Therefore, the hadith mentioned in praise of Ali is more logical, meaningful and sensible.
Presuming that the hadith in praise of hazrat Umar is correct, then is it not logical that after the parting of the holy Prophet, either Umar or Ali should have succeeded him and not Abu Bakr? Ideally speaking, is it not logical that Ali and Umar should have become the first two of the khulafa-e-Rashideen?
We also see that the “would be successor” participates in the funeral rites of the person they are going to succeed. Ali was there busy carrying out the funeral rites of the holy Prophet. One wonders where were people like Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, Abu Huraira, etc. who were supposed to be the close sahabas, friends and also the fathers-in-law of the holy Prophet at the time and what were they occupied with?
Can anyone prove to us that these so called great companions of the holy Prophet (P) went to his daughter’s house to extend condolences and offer her any sympathy and help at the time of grief?
It is said that hazrat Fatema (a.s.) lived between 45 days to six months after the demise of her father. She was oppressed and tortured so badly that by the time she died, she looked like an old lady walking with the support of a stick and a handkerchief tied round her forehead. Her back was also bent. Did you ever know this and wouldn’t it be important to know why and how did this happen to her?

Assalamu Alaikum
I can feel your anger but what is most important is making the whole world understand the teaching of the religion of Islam, we should be grateful to Allah that he guided us to the truth but we have a responsibility of making other people see the truth except for he who has gone astray.
During the time of prophet Mohammed (PBUH) it wasn’t easy for him to make people see the truth, Allah helped him achieved all these in pain and all the prophets of Allah. beyond everything is a need for us to be patient, that is the reader's opinion and not that of Muslims.
just look at the trend of events, the people who hated Islam with a passion later turned to the defenders of Islam. Sayyidina Umar at one time wanted to slay our Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) but when Allah guided he converted into Islam and because of his nature Islam he made tremendous contribution to the religion of Islam. the religion of Islam is a perfect religion that is protected by Allah himself, we have being humiliated severally on account of our religion but we would never give up.

ANY ANSWERS?
“The Prophet is blessed by Allah and His angels bless him then you, that are true believers, and greet him with a worthy salutations.” H.Q. 33:56
We hear this verse being recited after every adhan.
The holy Prophet is blessed in the following way: “O Allah. Send grace on Mohammad and the family of Mohammad, the way Thou sent grace on Ibraheem and the family of Ibraheem. And send blessings on Mohammad and the family of Mohammad, the way Thou sent blessings on Ibraheem and the family of Ibraheem in the worlds. For Thou art worthy of all praise, full of Glory.”
It’s exactly this kind of blessings which is sent on the holy Prophet in namaz or salat. The blessings are not sent on the holy Prophet alone but also on his family. Still more important is the fact that neither the sahabas nor the wives of the holy Prophet are included in these blessings and salutations.
Why is it then that on other occasions, when the name of the holy Prophet is mentioned, he i.e. the holy Prophet himself, his family, the sahabas and also his wives are blessed?
Why is it that on many occasions when the name of the holy Prophet is mentioned, then only he alone is blessed and his family are excluded? Only “peace be upon him” is mentioned and not “peace be upon him and his family”?
If the companions and the wives of the holy Prophet are worthy of salam and salutations, then why aren’t they included in your salat or namaz?
If the Muslims are true in their claim to love the Ahlul-Bayt as they deserve and are worthy of, then the first and the foremost sign would be to remember them in the salams and salutations of the holy Prophet.
ALLAHUMMA SALLI ALAA MUHAMMADINW WA ALE MUHAMMAD.
O ALLAH BLESS MUHAMMAD AND THE FAMILY OF MUHAMMAD.
Umar Bin Al Khattab: accepts Islam
Evidently both Said Ibn Zayd and Fatimah, daughter of al-Khattab, managed to conceal their acceptance of Islam from the Quraysh and especially from Fatimah's family for some time. She had cause to fear not only her father but her brother Umar who was brought up to venerate the Kabah and to cherish the unity of the Quraysh and their religion. Umar was a headstrong young man of great determination. He saw Islam as a threat to the Quraysh and became most violent and unrestrained in his attacks on Muslims. He finally decided that the only way to put an end to the trouble was to eliminate the man who was its cause...
Goaded on by blind fury he took up his sword and headed for the Prophet's house.
On his way he came face to face with a secret believer in the Prophet who seeing Umar's grim expression asked him where he was going. "I am going to kill Muhammad..."
One wonders how could such a person who hated the Apostle of Allah to the extent that he wanted to kill him, become such a staunch supporter that he also became his i.e. the holy Prophet’s second successor! One wonders about weakness of his faith and iman that he hurt his own sister and her husband so badly for being a Muslims and followers of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his immaculate progeny).
Later on, we see that he’s the same person who introduced innovations in Islam and introduced things alien to Islam. This he did after the Messenger of Allah parted from this world.
If one looks into the history of Christianity, they’ll find a lot of similarities between Saul who later became to be known as apostle Paul and Umar. Saul was a sworn enemy of the true followers of Jesus (a.s.). He persecuted them and his hands were stained with innocent blood. Later on he started calling himself a disciple of Jesus (a.s.) and introduced innovations in the teachings of Jesus (a.s.). That is why the present day Christianity is also known as “Pauline Christianity”.
There was no mistaking his bitterness and murderous resolve. The believer sought to dissuade him from his intent but Umar was deaf to any arguments. He then thought of diverting Umar in order to at least warn the Prophet of his intentions.
"O Umar," he said, "Why not first go back to the people of your own house and set them to rights?"
"What people of my house?" asked Umar.
"Your sister Fatimah and your brother-in-law Said. They have both forsaken your religion and are followers of Muhammad in his religion..."
Umar turned and made straight for his sister's house. There he called out to her angrily as he approached. Khabbab ibn al-Aratt who often came to recite the Quran to Said and Fatimah was with them then. When they heard Umar's voice, Khabbab hid in a corner of the house and Fatimah concealed the manuscript. But 'Umar had heard the sound of their reading and when he came in, he said to them: "What is this gibbering I heard?"
They tried to assure him that it was only normal conversation that he had heard but he insisted: "Hear it I did," he said, "and it is possible that you have both become renegades."
"Have you not considered whether the Truth is not to be found in your religion?" said Said to Umar trying to reason with him. Instead, Umar set upon his brother-in-law hitting and kicking him as hard as he could and when Fatimah went to the defence of her husband, Umar struck her a blow on her face which drew blood.
"O Umar," said Fatimah angrily. "What if the Truth is not in your religion! I bear witness that there is no god but Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of God."
Fatimah's wound was bleeding, and when Umar saw the blood he was sorry for what he had done. A change came over him and he said to his sister:
"Give me that script which you have that I may read it." Like them Umar could read, but when he asked for the script, Fatimah said to him: "You are impure and only the pure may touch it. Go and wash yourself or make ablutions."
Thereupon Umar went and washed himself, and she gave him the page on which was written the opening verses of Surah Ta-Ha. He began to read it and when he reached the verse, 'Verily, I alone am God, there no deity but me. So, worship Me alone, and be constant in Prayer so as to remember Me,' he said: "Show me where Muhammad is."
Umar then made his way to the house of al-Arqam and declared his acceptance of Islam and the Prophet peace be upon him and all his companions rejoiced.
From Alim Online
An incident came up, where Abdullah ibn Ubayy who was known to the Muslims as the leader of hypocrites in Medina, who would say very lowly things about Muhammad. During a time of battle, Abdullah ibn Ubayy said, we are going togo back to Medina referring to himself and his group of hypocrites because he wanted to be the leader of Medina and the honorable 'Us' are going to throw out the lowly ones, meaning Prophet and his true believers.
This reached the ears of Prophet and the companions wanted to kill Abdullah ibn Ubayy and the Prophet told them absolutely not. So the Prophet established one principle, which is the complete freedom of speech.
Secondly, when Abdullah ibn Ubayy became sick and was on his death bed, his son also named Abdullah ibn Abdullah came to the Prophet and asked Prophet to pray for his father, to pray over his father after his death, to pray for his soul, and the Prophet accepted the request and in fact gave his own shirt to Abdullah ibn Abdullah for his father to be buried in.
Umar ibn Khattab (Ra) became outraged and in one story says that Umar grabbed Prophet's arm and said, "Prophet of Allah, your Lord has forbidden you to pray for them.* They are the hypocrites who have been promised hell fire".
And so the Prophet referred to this verse and NOT in the meaning that you and I would take it at the surface and it does not matter if you pray for them one time or seventy times, Prophet said, "Allah told me I could pray for them. Allah says pray for them or don't pray for them, if you pray for them seventy times Allah will not forgive them. There is permission for me to pray for them and I would pray for him more than seventy times, perhaps Allah will forgive him". Several variants of this Tradition are to be found in Bukhari, Tirmidhi, Nasai, Ibn Hanbal, on the authority of Ibn `Abbas; Bukhari and Muslim, on the authority of Ibn `Umar;
What an example of generosity and magnanimity from Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Classification of the Biddah by the Salaf as Saliheen
The Prophet said, "He who innovates something in this matter of ours that is not of it will have it rejected." He also said, "Beware of innovations, for every innovation (kul bida`) is misguidance."
Those opposed to Mawlid cite this saying and hold that the word every (kul) is a term of generalization, including all types of innovations, with no exception, and that therefore, celebrating Mawlid is misguidance. By daring to say that, they accuse the scholars of Islam of innovation. At the top of the list of those they have accused, then, is our Master `Umar (r). Those in opposition to Mawlid quickly reply to this, "But we did not mean the Companions of the Prophet Muhammad."
It follows, then, that the meaning of every (kul) cannot be taken in its general sense. Therefore, although the Prophet may not have said to celebrate his blessed birthday, it is nonetheless not innovation to do so. For, as the following examples show, there were many actions and practices instituted by his close followers after his time that are not deemed innovation.
Compiling the Qu'ran.
(From a Prophetic saying related by Zaid Ibn Thabit.(r)) "The Prophet died and the Qu'ran had not been compiled anywhere. `Umar (r) suggested to Abu Bakr (r) to compile the Qu'ran in one book. When a large number of Companions were killed in the battle of Yamama, Abu Bakr wondered, "How could we do something that the Prophet did not do?' `Umar said, "By Allah, it is good.' `Umar persisted in asking Abu Bakr until Allah expanded his chest for it (Allah made him agree and accept these suggestions) and he sent for Zaid Ibn Thabit and assigned him to compile the Qu'ran." Zaid said, "By Allah if they had asked me to move a mountain, it would not have been more difficult than
* The behaviour of hazrat Umar seems very strange. One wonders the state of his iman and his concept about prophethood. How could such a person be accepted to be a khalifa after the holy Prophet who treated and behaved with his Master in such manner?
to compile the Qur'an." He also said, "How could you do something that the Prophet did not do?" Abu Bakr said, "It is good, and `Umar kept coming back to me until Allah expanded my chest for the matter." The saying is narrated in Sahih Al Bukhari.
The Maqam of Ibrahim (as) in relation to the Ka'ba.
(Al Bayhaqi narrated with a strong chain of narrators from Aisha.) "The Maqam during the time of the Prophet and Abu Bakr was attached to the House, then `Umar moved it back." Al Hafiz Ibn Hajar said in Al Fath, "The Companions did not oppose `Umar, neither did those who came after them, thus it became unanimous agreement." He was the first to build the enclosure (maqsura) on it, which still exists today.
Adding the first call to prayer on Friday.
(From Sahih Al Bukhari, from Al Sa'ib bin Yazid.) "During the time of the Prophet (s), Abu Bakr (r) and `Umar (r), the call to Friday prayer used to occur when the Imam sat on the pulpit. When it was Othman's (r) time, he added the third call (considered third in relation to the first adhan and the iqama. But it is named first because it proceeds the call to the Friday prayer.)"
Salutations on the Prophet composed and taught by our Master `Ali (r).
The salutations have been mentioned by Sa'id bin Mansoor and Ibn Jareer in Tahzeeb al Aathar, and by Ibn Abi Assim and Ya'qoob bin Shaiba in Akhbar `Ali and by Al Tabarani and others from Salamah Al Kindi.
The addition to the tashahhud by Ibn Mas'ud.
After "wa rahmatullahi wa barakatu," and the Mercy of Allah and Blessings, he used to say, "assalamu `alayna min Rabbina," peace upon us from our Lord. Narrated by Al Tabarani in Al Kabir, and the narrators are those of the sound transmitters, as it has been mentioned in Majma' Al Zawa'id.
The addition to the tashahhud by Abdullah Ibn `Umar.
He added the basmalah at the beginning of the tashahhud. He also added to the talbia, "labbaika wa sa'daika wal khayru bi yadayka wal raghba'u ilayika wal `amalu" This is mentioned in Bukhari, Muslim, et al.
These are some of the developments instituted by the Prophet's Companions, the scholars, and the honorable members of his nation, which did not exist during the time of the Prophet, and which they deemed good. Are they, then, misguided and guilty of bad innovation?
As for the claim that there is no such thing in religion as good innovation, here are some sayings of the brilliant scholars of Islam belying this claim.
Imam Nawawi said in Sahih Muslim (6-21)
"The Prophet's saying every innovation is a general-particular and it is a reference to most innovations. The linguists say, "Innovation is any act done without a previous pattern, and it is of five different kinds.'" Imam Nawawi also said in Tahzeeb al Asma' wal Sifaat, "Innovation in religious law is to originate anything which did not exist during the time of the Prophet, and it is divided into good and bad." He also said, "Al-muhdathat (pl. for muhdatha) is to originate something that has no roots in religious law. In the tradition of religious law it is called innovation, and if it has an origin within the religious law, then it is not innovation. Innovation in religious law is disagreeable, unlike in the language where everything that has been originated without a previous pattern is called innovation regardless of whether it is good or bad."
Shaykh Ibn Hajar Al Asqalani, the commentator on Al Bukhari, said, “Anything that did not exist during the Prophet's time is called innovation, but some are good while others are not."
Abu Na'eem, narrated from Ibrahim Al Junaid, said, "I heard Ash-Shafi'i saying, "Innovation is of two types; praiseworthy innovation and blameworthy innovation, and anything that disagrees with the Sunnah is blameworthy.'"
Imam Albayhaqi narrated in Manaqib Ash-Shafi'i that Ash-Shafi'i said, "Innovations are of two types: that which contradicts the Qu'ran, the Sunnah, or unanimous agreement of the Muslims is a innovation of deception, while a good innovation does not contradict any of these things."
Al `Izz bin Abdussalam said, at the end of his book, Al Qawa'id, "Innovation is divided into obligatory, forbidden, recommended, disagreeable and permissible, and the way to know which is which is to match it against the religious law."
|
Clearly we see from the opinions of these righteous scholars, that to define innovations in worship as wholly negative without exception is ignorant. For these pious knowers, among them Imam Nawawi and Ash-Shafi'i, declared that innovations could be divided into good and bad, based on their compliance or deviance with religious law. Moreover, the following Prophetic saying is known even to common Muslims, let alone scholars: "He who inaugurates a good practice (sunnatun hasana) in Islam earns the reward of it, and of all who perform it after him, without diminishing their own rewards in the least." Therefore it is permissible for a Muslim to originate a good practice, even if the Prophet didn't do it, for the sake of doing good and cultivating the reward. The meaning of inaugurate a good practice (sanna sunnatun hasana) is to establish a practice through personal reasoning (ijtihad) and derivation (istinbat) from the rules of religious law or its general texts. The actions of the Prophet's Companions and the generation following them which we have stated above is the strongest evidence. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: Is there any verse of the holy Qur’an or hadith of the holy Prophet in which there is any mention about “good bida’h” or “bad bida’h”? One wonders since when and through whom have such bida’ats been introduced. This clearly shows that the Aqueedah of the Salaf as Saliheen and their Manhaj is exactly opposite of the present day psedo Salafis who are also known as Wahabbis IS THERE REALLY AND TRULY ANYTHING LIKE BID’AH ALLOWED IN ISLAM, LET ALONE GOOD OR BAD? WHEN THERE IS NO ROOM FOR ANY SORT OF BID’AH IN ISLAM, THEN ANYONE FOLLOWING SOMETHING PRESUMING IT TO BE A GOOD BIDAH IS AS BAD AS SOMEONE FOLLOWING A BAD BID’AH. THE HOLY PROPHET HAS ALREADY WARNED AGAINST INNOVATIONS IN ISLAM. ITS NOTHING BUT THE HELLFIRE. Useful Websites worth visiting: http://www.al-islam.org/peshawar/toc.html |
Podcast: Sunni Shaikh censored for Loving the Ahlul Bayt (as)
Imam Abdul Alim Musa of Masjid al-Islam (Washington, DC) has received much criticism for his outspoken lectures on the Ahlul Bayt (as). This lecture by far is most amazing and compelling stories of a convert who was lied to and deceived by the "imams" that brought him to Islam in prison. The books they gave to him, he says, delibrately had mistranslations so to mask the importance of the Ahlul Bayt (as); instead of "People of the House" Ahlul Bayt (as) was translated as "followers of the Prophet." It wasn't till much later did Imam Musa know the TRUE meaning of Durood Shareef. He continues by revealing hadith after hadith about the importance of loving the Ahlul Bayt from Sunni sources. He tells the congregation not to get mad at him, get mad at the scribes who write down the hadiths. "Why aren't there any conferences on the Ahlul Bayt (as)?" he asks...
Listen to his March 3, 2004 Jumu'ah Khutba on the importance of loving the Ahlul Bayt (as) and see for yourself what all the "controversy" is about.
